Kelly Walsh

A Southern California native, Kelly Walsh returned to our sunny state after a nine-year stay in Massachusetts where she studied athletic training at Northeastern University in Boston.  At NU, she honed her skills through cooperative and clinical education rotations in diverse environments, including Brandeis University, Harvard University and the University of Southern California.  After earning her B.S. 2001, she joined the staff at Marlboro High School as the Head Athletic Trainer.  In her four years there, nearly all of the teams made it into post-season tournaments, where Kelly was able to help four of them take five state titles including back-to-back girls' volleyball titles and the coveted boys' ice hockey title.

During the spring of 2004, Kelly was sought out by the Boston Panthers semi-pro football team. She joined the staff of this Eastern Football League (EFL) team where her sound skills and quick wit helped her gain the players' trust and respect.  In October, 2004 she assisted the Panthers in advancing to the EFL semi-finals.

In 2005, Kelly made the move back to California, joining UCSB’s athletic training staff.  While working full time for UCSB, Kelly graduated cum laude from California University of Pennsylvania in 2007; earning a master of science in Exercise Science & Health Promotion with an emphasis in Performance Enhancement & Injury Prevention.
