Appeared in 15 games as a senior… Recorded seven hits for a .226 batting average and scored six runs… Batted in a run and hit a double in a 3-for-4 performance against Santa Clara in a 5-4 win on Feb. 10.

2017
Second Team All-Big West
Improved on a standout sophomore campaign to earn Second Team All-Big West accolades as a junior…Played in all 59 games, primarily in centerfield and right field…Finished second on the team with a .339 batting average (63-for-186), 63 hits, five homeruns, 33 RBIs, and 34 runs scored…Also ranked second with a .376 on-base percentage and a .511 slugging percentage…Only Gaucho to earn Big West Field Player of the Week honors (Apr. 17) after going 5-for-10 with a homerun, triple, four RBIs and two runs scored in a weekend series win over CSUN…Hit a game-winning grand slam in the sixth inning to erase a 3-0 deficit and lead UCSB past Big West Champion Cal State Fullerton on May 12…Also came through with two-run game-winning hits against Fresno State (Apr. 19) and UC Davis (May 6)…Led all UCSB outfielders with 11 assists…Finished third on the team with three stolen bases…Also third on the team with 20 extra base hits (13 doubles, two triples, five homeruns)…Recorded a season-high four hits against Southern Utah on Mar. 4 in a 4-for-4 performance with two RBIs and a run…Went 3-for-5 with a season-high three runs scored, a walk, double and an RBI in a 10-9 win over Pacific (Feb. 18)…Finished with 16 multi-hit games…Recorded a hit in 44 games.

2016
Played in all 56 games as a sophomore…Was second on the team with a .322 batting average…Collected 55 hits with 10 double, a team-high three triples, and a home run…Finished with a .418 on-base percentage and a .433 slugging percentage…Had 28 RBIs and 22 walks…Second on the Gauchos with 14 extra base hits…Also stole six bases…Had the highest fielding percentage among starting outfielders with a .975 mark…Led team with seven hit by pitches…One of three Gauchos to have recorded at least one double, one triple, and one home run…Earned her first career Big West Field Player of the Week award after leading UCSB to a 4-1 finish at the Gauchos Classic I with a .714 batting average, 10 hits and nine RBIs…During that weekend, UCSB took down power five conference schools in South Carolina and Georgia Tech…Her best performance came in a dominant 10-2 run rule victory over Southern Utah when she went for a career-best 4-4 performance, scoring three runs and three RBIs.

2015
As a freshman, Johnston appeared in 25 games, recording 10 runs and seven hits… She concluded the season with three walks and a .226 batting average.   

HIGH SCHOOL
Jesssica Johnston played at center field and shortstop for three years at Harvard-Westlake School...Competed under coach Joe Aranda (2011-13) and Claire Reitmann-Grout (2013-14)...Named First Team All-League and the Los Angles Daily News Second Team All-Area after batting .474 and slugging .842...Johnston was a First Team All-Leaguer sophomore and junior year...Led the Wolverines to back-to-back Mission League championships.
