Second Team All-Big West
Recorded an outstanding junior campaign...Played in all 54 games... Named to All Big-West team for third year in a row...Lead UCSB in doubles(11), home runs(8), RBI(31), walks(28), runs scored(33), on-base percentage(.420), extra base hits(20), and slugging(.557)... Recorded 14 multi-hit games and a .323 batting average throughout the season… Went 2-for-4 with a homerun, two runs scored, and two RBI to help the Gauchos past Hawaii at home on Apr. 14… Best performance came in a two-homerun and four-RBI outing, including the walk-off solo shot, against Cal Poly on May 12.

First Team All-Big West
Turned in an impressive sophomore season after bursting onto the scene as a freshman…Played in 57 games, primarily as the team’s second basemen…Earned All-Big West honors for the second consecutive year, landing on the First Team as a sophomore…Led UCSB in nearly every offensive category, including batting average (.354), homeruns (10), runs scored (39), walks (31), on-base percentage (.457) and slugging percentage (.634)…Finished second on the team with 33 RBIs and third with 11 doubles…led the way with 23 extra-base hits…Finished the season with 18 multi-hit games…Went 4-for-4 with two-homeruns, including a walk-off blast in the bottom of the seventh to lead the Gauchos past No. 20 Missouri 6-5 on Feb. 25…The win marked the first UCSB victory over a ranked opponent in over five years…Went 3-for-3 with two runs scored, a triple, and an RBI in a 6-1 win over San Diego (Mar. 24)…Finished 3-for-4 with a homerun and two RBIs in a 4-2 home win against UC Riverside on Apr. 8…Batted .365 (19-for-52) in 19 conference games to rank fourth in the Big West.

Big West All-Freshman Team
Played in all 56 games as a freshman…Had a stellar rookie campaign and was selected to the all-freshman team and second team all-conference after breaking out as UCSB’s best power hitter…She led the team with 42 RBIs (third in the conference and tied for the third-most by a Gaucho in a single season) and seven home runs (fifth in conference)…Finished the year batting .297 with 51 hits, 20 runs, a team-high 12 doubles, a triple, and 22 walks…Led all UCSB players with 20 extra base hits and 86 total bases…Was one of three Gauchos to have at least one double, one triple, and one home run…Had a .379 on-base percentage and a team-leading .500 slugging percentage…Second on the team with two sac flies…Recorded a season-high three hits in three games…The first baseman led the Gauchos with two Big West Field Player of the Week awards…She picked up the first of those awards after her first week as a Gaucho at the Arizona Hillenbrand Invitational…Over that weekend, she batted .647 and slugged 1.176…In her collegiate debut, she went 3-4 with two home runs, a double, and four runs against Purdue (2/12/16)…Her second one came after the UC Davis series when she hit for .700 and slugged for 1.500 with a pair of homers…She delivered the game-winning solo blast in the second game of that road set.

HIGH SCHOOL
Played at second base and pitcher at Patrick Henry HS under coach Steve Minor…She led the Patriots to back-to-back Eastern League Championships in her junior and senior seasons….As a senior, she was named First Team All-CIF, Eastern League Co-Player of the Year, and MVP in the Falcon Fiesta Tournament (which fielded 20 teams).

Sierra Diane Altmeyer was born on May 27, 1997 in San Diego, Calif. to parents Julie and Greg…She has two younger sisters named Mariah and Kaiah, as well as a younger brother named Koa…Roots for the San Diego Chargers and the San Diego Padres…Her favorite athlete is Ronda Rousey…Her favorite movies are White Chicks, The Notebook, and Fast Times at Ridgemont High…Enjoys watching Sons of Anarchy and That 70s Show…Her favorite novel is The Grapes of Wrath…She enjoys old school music, while her favorite music artists are Al Green and Tupac…In her free time she likes going to the beach and eating…Also recruited by Arizona State, Washington, Michigan, and UCLA… Has not decided on a major yet.
