• Appeared in 24 of UCSB's 28 games in her sophomore season, starting in 23 games as catcher
• Batted .347 on the season, good for second on the team
• Went 26-for-75 with 7 doubles and 2 triples, batting in 15 runs
• Came up big with three hits and an RBI in UCSB's eight-inning, 17-10 win over Northern Colorado on Feb. 14
• Put together a seven-game from Feb. 29 to March 7, with the first six games all seeing Thies deliver multiple hits
• Reliable defensively, catching to a .992 fielding percentage
2019
• Finished her freshman year as the Gauchos' leader in RBIs with 17
• Recorded at least one hit in each of her first four career outings, including a two-run, two hit, four RBI showing in UCSB's 12-6 opening day win against Sacramento State
• Went on to appear in all 52 games for the Gauchos, ranking top-five on the team in hits (36), runs (14), doubles (4) and triples (2)
• Her 17 RBIs were also good for sixth among Big West freshmen
High School
• Played catcher and outfielder at Laguna Hills High School for coach Nicole Byron
• Helped the Hawks to four CIF appearances and one league championship in 2016
• Hit between .300 and .450 all four years, earning All-League recognition each season
• Earned a spot on Big West Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll

• Teah Michelle Thies was born in Laguna Hills, Calif. to parents Jeff and Laura Thies
• She has four siblings, older sisters Cali and Riley, and younger siblings Lilan and Coulter
• Plans to major in Financial Math
• Her most memorable sports moment was getting the opportunity to play high school ball with her two older sisters for two years
