Claire Thrasher

Claire Thrasher joined the UCSB Athletic Training staff in December 2021, where she oversees the medical care for the women’s soccer, men’s and women’s swim, and women’s tennis teams.

Prior to UCSB, Claire attended California State University, Long Beach where she received her degree in Athletic Training. She began her career as the Head Athletic Trainer at Bishop Diego High School in 2020 and as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Westmont College in 2020 and 2021.

Claire attended California State University, Long Beach (LBSU) and worked with their NCAA Division I softball and women’s volleyball teams in 2019. As a student, Claire served as the Chair of one of the Far West Athletic Training Association District Committees and looks to continue her role as a volunteer and advocate for athletic trainers in the future. She completed her undergraduate degree in Athletic Training in 2019 and gained experience working with a variety of teams at the community college level up into the professional sector. Claire was a member of a performance testing group who assisted the Sports Medicine Staff of the LA Kings Hockey Franchise with their yearly performance testing and worked as a staff member with the Los Angeles Football Club team during their home games as a part of the Sports Medicine emergency team.

In her years before completing her degree in athletic training, Claire worked in the physical therapy field at the local outpatient orthopedic clinic, Elite Performance and Rehabilitation Center, beginning in 2012. Claire is a local from Santa Barbara who in her free time enjoys running, surfing, playing beach volleyball and spending time with her family locally.
