Moore finished the season with 33 runs and 58 hits… Moore emerged as one of the Big West's top power hitters in ranking seventh in slugging percentage (.589) and fourth with 22 extra base hits… She had a team-high 42 RBIs, and was second on the team with nine homeruns, which respectively rank third and fifth in Gaucho single season lore… She added 19 walks and led the team with 12 doubles and one triple... Moore caught 10 stolen base runners out of 20 attempts, with a .935 fielding percentage… In conference play, Moore's 22 RBI paced the league, while her five homers were the second-most… She completed the season recognized as First Team All-Big West.
2014
Second Team All-Big West
In her first full season as the Gauchos’ starting catcher, Moore finished second on the team with 51 hits and 19 walks, while also leading the conference with 14 doubles… She improved throughout the season and even raised her batting average from .291 in nonconference play to .344 during the Big West schedule…She was terrific behind the dish, as she finished the season with a .980 fielding percentage… Moore was voted as the Big West Field Player of the Week after leading UCSB to a 3-0 sweep of UC Riverside (May 3-4)…She hit .600 in the series and led the Gauchos with a .800 slugging percentage and four runs…In game three, she went 4-4 with two doubles and accounted for four of UCSB's five runs in its 5-3 victory.

As a freshman, Moore did not play due to redshirting.

Attended Sheldon High School in Elk Grove, Calif.…Coached by MaryJo Truesdale in the San Joaquin Valley conference…Played shortstop and catcher…Helped the Huskies win back-to-back Sac-Joaquin Section Championships in 2011 and 2012.
TRAVEL BALL
Played for Lady Magic 18 Gold…Coached by Joe Henderson and Jim Carda…Earned a seventh-place in the 2012 Premier Girls Fastpitch national tournament.

MeShalon Rynae Moore was born on September 8, 1994 in Sacramento, Calif….Parents are Bakyra (Bam) and Karen Moore…Has an older brother, Damien, and an older sister, DeJanee, who is also a member of the team…Major is currently undeclared but as a very artistic individual with a passion for drawing, aspires to pursue an artistic career…Also played soccer for seven years, of which one she competed competitively…Most memorable sports moment was winning consecutive Sac-Joaquin Section Championships in her junior and senior years…Favorite television shows include “Vampire Diaries” and “Parenthood”…Favorite movie is “Perks of Being a Wallflower”…Enjoys reading “A Walk to Remember”…Favorite aspects of UCSB include living on the beach and attending with her sister, DeJanee…Avoids stepping on the field or chalk lines before games as a matter of superstition, in addition to ensuring to undo any crossed bats inside of the dugout.
