2014 MPSF CHAMPION – 100 BUTTERFLY, 200BUTTERFLY, 500 FREESTYLE,
200 MEDLEY, RELAY, 400 MEDLEY RELAY, 800 FREERELAY

2013-14: Captured individual conference titlesin the 100 fly (52.27), 200 fly (1:55.79), and 500 free (4:46.99)in helping UCSB to a second place finish at the MPSFChampionships… Ward also helped the Gauchos win the 200 and400 medley relay events, as the 200 medley team clinched firstplace with a time of 1:39.87, while the 400 medley team set theconference record (3:36.48)…Also took first in the lead offleg of  winning 800 Free relay with a school-record time of1:47:03...Named MPSF Swimmer of the Year for the second time of hercareer, scoring more points than any other swimmer in MPSFhistory…Set the program record in the 100 butterfly (51.47)at the NCAA Championship finals, earning a fourth place finish andAll American honors, in addition to consolation finals in 200Butterfly...It was the fourth time she broke the 100 butterflyrecord… Ward was also the first Gaucho, and first athlete inany MPSF sport, to earn the MPSF/Turbo Female Athlete of the Weekaward four times in a single year (totaling seven in hercareer)…She picked up the first one after leading UCSB tovictory in its tri-meet with Cal Poly and Hawai’i by winningthe 100 and 200 fly, the 500 freestyle, and the 200 and 400 medleyrelays…The second came in a quad meet with UCLA, OregonState, and Florida Gulf Coast, with top marks in 100 & 200 Flyand 200 Free...The third came at the Texas Invite when she set athen school record for the 100 Butterfly, 51.76, earning a rareNCAA "A" cut, and 1:47.70 in the 200 Butterfly, earning a "B"cut…The fourth award came after an outstanding performanceduring senior day when she helped the Gauchos to victory over CalPoly as she won the 100 and 200 fly, achieving a personal record inall butterfly events, while providing a leg in both winning 200 and400 medley relays...Was selected team MVP by her teammates in twoof her four seasons...Was also the Ann LoucksAward-winner, awarded for the first time in the past 5seasons...Ward finished her UCSB career holding six current UCSBrecords and four MPSF league records.

2013 MPSF CHAMPION – 200 MEDLEY RELAY, 400 MEDLEYRELAY
2012-13: Contributed to wins in the 200and 400 medley relay, while individually placing second in the 100butterfly (53.17), third in the 500 freestyle (4:51.95), and eighthin the 200 butterfly (2:09.94) at the MPSFChampionships…Took first place in the 200 butterfly in thehome opener against UC San Diego on Nov. 2 with a time of2:04.04…Finished first place in the 50 freestyle, 200freestyle and the 500 freestyle in a meet victory against Pacificand LMU on Feb. 2…Advanced to the ‘B’ Final inthe 100 butterfly at the AT&T Winter Nationals in Austin, Tex.and finished in fifth place…Set her season-best time in the200 butterfly (2:03.76) against UC Davis…Set a Fresno StateAquatics Center record in the 100 butterfly with her time of 56.18on Jan. 28.

2012 MPSF SWIMMER OF THE YEAR
2011-12: Placed first in the500-yard freestyle (4:40.41), placed first in the 100-yardbutterfly (52.98) – which qualified her for the 2012 NCAAChampionships – brought home the championship title in the200-yard butterfly (1:59.16) and helped lead the Gauchos tovictories in the 800-yard freestyle relay, 400-yard medley relay,the 200-yard freestyle relay and the 200-yard medley relay at theMPSF Championships…Holds school records in the 200-yardfreestyle (1:48.55), 100-yard butterfly (52.98), 200-yard butterfly(1:59.16) and 800-yard freestyle relay…Placed29th in the 100-yard butterfly and 40th inthe 200-yard butterfly at the NCAA Championships…Finished106th in the 100-meter butterfly at the U.S. OlympicTrials.

2011 MPSF CHAMPION – 200 MEDLEY RELAY, 100BUTTERFLY, 500 FREESTYLE 
2010-11: Captured conference titles in the 200medley relay (1:40.08), the 500 freestyle and the 100 butterfly atthe MPSF Championships…Set school records in the 500 free(4:48.60), 100 fly (53.83) and 1000 free (10:03.01)…Tooksecond in the 1650 freestyle (16:49.91) and set a school recordwith her 1000 split…Helped the Gauchos to second-placefinishes in both the 400 free relay (3:21.53) and 400 medley relay(3:42.12)…Took third in the 800 freestyle relay(7:22.23).

HIGH SCHOOL
Attended Campolindo High School...Helped the Cougars tofour-consecutive Diablo Foothill Athletic LeagueChampionships...Was an All-DFAL swimmer in 2008 and 2010...She is anine-time high school All-American...Earned All-American honorsthree times in the 400 freestyle relay and twice in the 200 freerelay, 200 individual medley and 500 freestyle...Helped set aschool record in the 200 free relay...Named Most Inspirationalduring the 2009-10 swim season...Swam club for Orinda Aquaticsunder coach Ron Heidary...Was named the team captain and the 2009Swimmer of the Year...Earned Scholastic All-American honors and wasa two-year Scholar Athlete.

Andrea Michelle Ward was born on Aug. 9, 1992 in San Leandro,Calif....Parents are Andrew and Debbie Ward...Has an older brother,Roger, and a younger sister, Emily..Majoring in bio-physiology atUCSB with ambitions of becoming a physical therapist...When not inthe pool, she enjoys playing the piano and spending timeoutdoors...Favorite movie is "While You Were Sleeping"...Enjoys themusic of Switchfoot and Journey..."An Old Fashioned Girl" by LouisaMay Alcott and the Bible are her favorite books...Names beating herrival high school by four points in a meet as her most memorableathletic achievement...Jesus and her best friend are her personalheroes...Was home-schooled through eighth grade.
