Ann Wright was appointed as UC Santa Barbara's diving coach inSeptember of 2011. Wright is critical in helping the Gauchos'resurrect their diving program, which was brought back last seasonafter an 11-year absence.
Wright has an extensive background as a diving coach. Currently,she serves as the Birmingham High School and Oxnard District divecoach, in addition to assisting at Mission Viejo DiveCamps.
She served as the Los Angeles Valley College dive coach for fourseasons (2007-10) and spent three summers with the Navy DivingCamp. Wright spent nine seasons coaching diving and swimming forthe Saginaw Schools.
Wright attended Clarion State College in Pennsylvania where sheserved as an assistant diving coach (1976-79).
During her coaching tenure, she has been named Michigan's HighSchool Diving Coach of the Year multiple times, has coached threehigh school State Champions, 12 All-State divers, 67 All-Americans,35 Junior National qualifiers, five Senior National Qualifiers,seven Junior National Champions and has had three divers named tothe Junior National Team.
As an athlete, she was a High School All-American, All-State andan AIAW All-American on the one and three-meter boards.
