Attended Mater Dei High School and swam for coach Jeri Mashburn…Was a four-time All-American and a two-time Trinity League Champion in the Individual Medley…MVP and CIF finalist all four years and was team captain at Mater Dei…Also coached by Jeri Mashburn at Irvine Novaquatics.

PERSONAL
Jiana Vargem was born December 14, 1994 in Lodi, Calif.…Majoring in Communication and aspires to become an event planner for a music company someday...Enjoys going to the beach, traveling, and going to concerts in her free time...Lists her top pre-race pump up song as "Shine" by Felix Jaehn...Enjoys snacking on Powerberries before a meet...Began swimming at age 12...Favorite aspect of college swimming is having a team comparable to a family....If she could add an event to each meet it would be a kicking race...Getting in to UCSB is the proudest achievement of her swimming career.
