Maelynn Marie Lawrence was born on Apr. 9, 2001 to parents Richard and Electra Lawrence in Lakewood, Calif…Has an older sister Rheanna…Favorite movies are all Disney movies, Stick It, and 50 First Dates, and favorite TV shows are Family Feud, Friends, Glee, and Riverdale…Favorite novels include the Alice series and the Twilight series…Favorite music artists are Ariana Grande, ABBA, Avril Lavigne, Bruno Mars, and Kahlid…Hobbies include drawing, baking and cooking, and taking care of animals…Majoring in Zoology and aspires to be a wildlife veterinarian…Also recruited by University of San Diego, UC San Diego, Hawaii, and Washington State.

Swam all four years at Lakewood High School under coach Deborah Caine…Was the Moore League Champion and CIF finalist all four years in the 200 and 500 Free…Was a state qualifier and participant twice…Received All-American consideration for the 500 Free in 2019…Earned Moore League Swimmer of the Year in 2019, was selected the Lakewood Youth Hall of Fame Performer of the Year for Swimming in 2016, 2017, and 2018…Won Lakewood High School Athlete of the Year in 2018 and 2019…Set school records in the 50 Free and 200 Free, as well as 200 Free Relay, 400 Free Relay, and 200 Medley Relay…Was an Honor Roll student all four years, while receiving USA Swimming Academic All-American honors in 2017 and 2018 and being named Lakewood Youth Hall of Fame Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2018-19.
