McWaid comes to UCSB via (Poly) Long Beach HS where shecompeted in nearly all of the contested running events ranging fromthe 200m up to the 3,200m. She won two team awards for theJackrabbits, Sophomore 2012 Most Promising Athlete and Senior 2014Most Inspirational Athlete. She also competed in soccer.
