Petty is a veteran sprinter for the Gauchos and will bea staple on the Gaucho 4 x 400m relay. She is a Big West finalistin the 400m, placing 8th in 2011. She looks to lower her personalbest of 56.63 in the one lap sprint event and break into the UCSBall-time list.
2013-2014 Outdoor
2014 was a comeback year for Petty as she was working to regainher form after suffering injury setbacks. She opened the year witha 400m win at the Gaucho Round-Up, recording a time of 58.55. Shesaw action in the 200m at the All UC, stepping down from her usual400m specialty, running a wind-aided 25.78. She ran 58.76 in the400m at the UCR Spring Break Invite and 58.71 at the Bryan ClayInvite.

Petty competed in the 400m at Big West Championships where she rana personal best of 56.63 in prelims (57.26 in finals) and finished8th…Had a season best in the 800m at All-CalChallenge where she finished 10th. She ran 57.32 toplace second at the Cal Poly Dual and also ran 57.41 at the CalNevada Championships. She helped the Gauchos run 3:47.41 in the 4 x400m relay at the Cal Nevada Championships.
2010-2011 Outdoor
Petty focused her efforts in the 400m and 4x400m relayraces this season...Petty ran a collegiate best time of 57.34 inthe 400m at Conference and placing 12th...Fastest 800m time of theseason was 2:18.64 which she ran at the Ben Brown Invite...Assistedthe women's 4x400m relay team to a first place finish at the BigWest Challenge with a time of 3:50.32.

Petty was MVP at Eleanor Roosevelt High School for the2009-2010 track season...She was name best female athlete of theyear in 2008...Made the 4x400m relay all-league team from2008-2010...Also made all league in the 400m and 200m in2009...Made high honors academic award from 2008-2010.
