A former high school basketball player, Hallie Brauner excelled in her first two seasons competing for the Gauchos. She ran her way into the Big West 400m hurdle final as a freshman, taking fifth with a 61.54 clip. Her time is fourth all-time at UCSB in the long hurdle event. Look for her to challenge an NCAA First Round bid in 2016.
2014-2015 Outdoor
Brauner led the Gauchos to four 4 x 400m relay wins during her sophomroe track season. She opened the year with three consecutive runner-up showings in the 400m hurdles, running 63.08 at the Round-Up, 64.58 at the All-UC and 62.62 at the Big West Double Dual. She placed third at the Challenge Cup in the long hurdles, finishing in 63.28. She ran 63.34 at the Bryan Clay and found a season's best in the 400m hurdles at the Cal Poly Dual, placing second in 62.05. At the Big West Meet she finished ninth, running 62.58.
2013-2014 Outdoor
Brauner competed in eight competitions in her debut season. She fired off back to back wins in the 400m hurdles with wins at the All-UC in 62.19 and at the UC Riverside Dual in 62.56. She earned her third long hurdle win of the season in 62.94 against Cal Poly in the Dual, helping the Gauchos take the team title. She qualified in the fifth slot at the Big West Championships in the 400m hurdles and would go on to place fifth in the final with a personal best 61.54- good for fourth all-time at UCSB. Brauner came back and helped the Gauchos take sixth in the 4 x 400m relay at the Big West Championships.

Brauner graduated from Tamalpais High School where she competed under coaches Kevin Engle and Katherine Hamilton…Team MVP in 2011 and 2012…CIF-NCS Scholar Athlete in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012…Holds the school 100m hurdle record…Helped her team to win league and place second at NCS in 2012…Also competed in basketball for nine years…Ranked fourth in Northern California for age and position in 2011.
