A two-time Big West scorer in the discus, Heather Haweslooks to move up the UCSB All-Time list in her signature event andchallenge for a spot on the shot put list. Hawes opened the 2014Big West Championship with a PR throw on her first attempt in thediscus, hitting 148'7, placing sixth overall.
2013-2014 Outdoor
Hawes won three competitions for the Gauchos in the shotput, including a 42'11.75 PR to take the win at the GauchoRound-Up. She won the UC Riverside Dual with a 41'6.5 shot put markand took a key victory in the shot put at the Cal Poly Dual,throwing 39'10. Hawes placed sixth at the UC-All Cal in the discuswith a 139'6 toss. She fired off a 148'1 discus throw at the UCRiverside Spring Break Invite, to take sixth. She placed second atthe Cal Poly Dual in the discus with a 137'5 effort. Hawes openedthe Big West Championships with a personal best toss of 148'1, amark that would hold up for sixth place.
2012-13 Outdoor
Hawes helped the Gaucho women claim the Cal Poly Dual meet titleby delivering her lifetime best discus throw of 142'3. She recordedher first collegiate win at the Gaucho Round Up in the shot put.Her best shot put mark of the year came at the Big West ChallengeCup at 42'0. Her second best collegiate throw of 139 in the discuscame at the Big West Championships.
2011-12 Outdoor
Competed in Discus Throw and Shot Put at Big WestChampionships… Posted personal bests of 39'8 in the Shot Putand 130'4 in the Hammer Throw at the Cal Poly Dual Meet placing3rd in both…Recorded seasons best discus throw of136'1 at the Riverside Dual meet placing 5th.
