Biography
2014-2015 Outdoor
Burks competed in six meets for the Gauchos during her freshman campaign. Opened the year with a 66.88 performance in the 400m hurdles, placing third at the Round-Up. Ran 66.10 at the All-UC, placing fourth overall. Recorded an eighth place finish at the UCR Spring Track Classic in the 400m hurdles, finishing in 66.28. Delivered a scoring performance for the Gauchos at the Cal Poly Dual, placing third with a time of 66.05, scoring two valuable points for the Gauchos.
Prep
Burks comes to UCSB via South Tahoe HS where she excelled in the hurdles for the Vikings. As a senior she placed third in the Nevada 1A State Championships in the 100m hurdles with a new STHS school record in 15.71.
Personal
Parents are Joan and Scott Burks...Has one sibling, Sarah...Majoring in Biology...Aspires to become a Physicians Assistant... Enjoys going to the beach, dancing and hiking...Personal hero is Shawn Johnson.
