Brandon Rosenthal

Brandon Rosenthal joined the UC Santa Barbara Men's Basketball staff in June 2025. Rosenthal arrives after serving as the head coach at Bella Vista College Prep in Phoenix, Arizona.

During his time at Bella Vista College Prep he inherited a program that finished 1-11 in conference play and transformed it into one of the best high school teams in the country, accruing a worse-to-first 9-2 conference record as part of a 20-4 overall record for the 2024-25 season. All the more impressive, nine of those wins came against teams ranked in the nation’s top-25, while playing in the EYBL Scholastic Conference—regarded as the most competitive league in high school basketball.

That is just part of Rosenthal’s impressive, abundant coaching experience. Before Bella Vista, Rosenthal worked in three different NBA organizations, most recently as an assistant coach for the G-League’s Santa Cruz Warriors during the 2023-24 season. Previously, he had the same title for the Northern Arizona Suns, along with stints in video/player development roles for the parent Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets.

At the college level, Rosenthal logged his most tenured position as Assistant Coach and Director of Scouting and Player Development at Arizona State from 2019-2023. He also spent time as Assistant Coach and Director of Basketball Operations at Santa Clara from 2012-2015. As a player, Rosenthal competed for four years at Division III St. John Fisher University, located in Rochester, New York.
