Conner Duyst was hired as the Compliance Coordinator in April 2022 after serving as the Compliance and Student Services Graduate Assistant at Illinois State for two years.Â
At UC Santa Barbara Duyst evaluates transcripts for NCAA initial eligibility requirements, prepares official visit documents, and completes and processes community college tracer requests all while ensuring compliance with NCAA regulations. Conner also prepares National Letters of Intern and Grant-In-Aid agreements for all 20 intercollegiate teams. Other duties for Duyst include managing the NCAA Compliance Assistant, Eligibility Center, and ARMS software.Â
During his time at Illinois State Duyst served as the day-to-day compliance contact for women's swimming, women's gymnastics, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's golf, and women's soccer. For those teams, he managed scholarship equivalencies, answered recruiting questions, and determined initial eligibility. He also served as the interim liaison to housing and dining services which included roommate pairing and move-in.
Prior to his graduate assistant position at Illinois State, Duyst was an intern with Cal State Stanislaus Athletic Department and the UC Santa Barbara compliance department.Â
Duyst is a UC Santa Barbara graduate with a B.A. in Communications and earned an M.S. in Sport Management from Illinois State.
