Ian Wood joined the UC Santa Barbara coaching staff as a volunteer assistant for the 2023 season. With Wood’s assistance, the Gauchos boasted the highest-scoring offense in The Big West, tallying 415 goals on their way to an appearance in The Big West Championship game. The 2023 season also included a record-setting 34-2 win over Westcliff, breaking the Gauchos’ program records for both goals in a game and margin of victory.
