SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) - Dawin Whiten scored 19 of his 24 points in the second half to lead Cal Poly past UC Santa Barbara 74-62 Saturday.

Derek Stockalper had 16 points and Gabe Stephenson added 11 for the Mustangs (5-11, 3-2 Big West), who had just two turnovers in the game.

Cecil Brown led UC Santa Barbara (7-9, 1-4) with 15 points, Chris Devine had 13 and Alex Harris 12.

The Gauchos went on an 11-3 run early in the second half to take their lone lead of the second half at 47-46 with 11:32 to play, but Whiten made a 3-pointer to take back the lead for Cal Poly, which led by as many as 15 in the final minutes.

The Mustangs shot 54.2 percent in the second half.
