SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – In a pivotal Big West Conference match, the UC Santa Barbara women's volleyball team came up short in a 3-0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-19) sweep at the hands of Cal Poly in front of nearly 3,000 fans in the Mott Athletics Center on Saturday night.

Cal Poly (17-7, 10-2 Big West) extended its nation-best home winning streak to 30 matches while the Gauchos (19-4, 9-3 Big West) dropped their second straight match for just the first time this season. The win also moves the Mustangs one game ahead of UCSB and into sole possession of second place in the Big West. Hawai'i currently sits in first with an 11-2 conference record.

UCSB hit just .139 in the match compared to a red-hot .391 percentage for the home team. Cal Poly also rendered the Gauchos ineffective at the net with a season-low one total block, while having five players with at least six kills. The Mustangs also edged UCSB in digs (34-28) and service aces (6-0).

Santa Barbara was led by nine kills from Tallulah Froley and six from Lindsey Ruddins. Zoe Fleck led the way with nine digs while Olivia Lovenberg and Romoni Vivao recorded 13 and 10 assists, respectively. Deni Wilson made the most of her opportunities, leading the Gauchos with a .500 hitting percentage after five kills on eight swings.

The Gauchos will look to get back on track on Friday, Nov. 15 at Long Beach State at 7:00 p.m.
