SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The UC Santa Barbara men's soccer team drew 0-0 with Cal Poly in double overtime on Saturday night at the Alex G. Spanos Stadium, but remained unbeaten in conference play and earned its sixth clean sheet of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Both teams struggled to find a rhythm in the first half, with neither team establishing possession for long and interrupted play in the midfield being the theme of the first 45 minutes.
• UCSB enjoyed the lion's share of the ball in the second half, but it was Cal Poly that was a threat on the counter and in its possession, with Ocean Salari and Neil Boyal pulling the strings for the Mustangs. UCSB sophomore goalkeeper Leroy Zeller was forced into action in the final minute of regulation when a ball threatened to come across the line in a flurry of action in the UCSB six-yard box. Daniel Normann came up with the chance for the Mustangs, but it was blocked.
• On the last kick of the game in second overtime, junior forward Thaabit Baartman had an opportunity to score as he collected the ball in the right side of the box, but the South African went for power and placed it over the top of goal as the game ended 0-0.

NOTABLE

• The Gauchos kept their third clean sheet in a row and sixth of the season.
• With a point in the contest, UCSB now has 14 in the league title race, retaining sole possession of first place.
