Box Score IRVINE, Calif. – A 66th minute UC Irvine goal was the difference in the Big West contest between the UC Santa Barbara women's soccer team (7-8-3, 5-3-1 Big West) and the Anteaters on Thursday night at Anteater Stadium. The loss, combined with Cal State Fullerton's 1-0 win at home tonight, puts the Gauchos on the outside looking in to the Big West Tournament and sets up a must-win showdown at Long Beach State in their season finale.
HOW IT HAPPENED
NOTABLE
- The Gauchos were outshot 8-6 overall and 5-3 in shots on goal. Senior defender Emma Vanderhyden had three shots, including one on target, while junior midfielder Dylan Lewis and senior forward Claire Grouwinkel split the other two shots on target

UP NEXT
- The Gauchos face Long Beach State on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the regular season finale for both teams. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and live stats will be available on UCSBGauchos.com. The Gauchos will need a win, coupled with a Cal State Fullerton loss at UC Riverside to get in to the Big West Tournament. If the Gauchos win and the Titans earn a draw, they would finish level on points but Fullerton would advance to the Tournament by virtue of owning the head-to-head tiebreaker over UCSB.
