HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Gauchos outshot Pacific 11-9 overall and 8-4 in on-target efforts, but couldn't find the breakthrough past Pacific goalkeeper Brenna Crump, who made eight saves.
- UCSB junior goalkeeper Evann Smith made four saves of her own, all in the first 90 minutes of play.
- Junior forward Jessica Wright led the team with five shots, three of which were on goal.
- Junior midfielder Lindsey Porter and freshman defender O'Callahan Liu had two apiece as well, while junior midfielder Dylan Lewis and freshman forward Leila Emmerson recorded one each.
QUOTABLE
- "On the defensive side of the ball we were solid. We really only gave up two looks at our goal and Evann handled those really well," said UCSB head coach Paul Stumpf, "I felt our possession was good today and the stats show that with 55% belonging to us. What was missing today was any sort of special moment in front of goal. We created enough chances to have at least one on the board."
