BOCA RATON, Fla.- The UC Santa Barbara men's tennis team downed Florida Atlantic 4-2 Saturday to begin their 2023 competition season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
● Dynamic duo Phillip Jordan and Kai Brady started it off for UCSB, beating Nicolas Acevedo and Filip Krolo 6-1.
● FAU came back with a 6-2 win on court two over Pierre Boullenger and Alexander Watanabe.
● Court three was front and center as Pablo Masjuan and Luka Mrsic defeated Alberto Colas and Alvaro Fernandez Horta 6-3.
● Moving on to singles, court one saw Acevedo defeat Jordan 6-1, 6-0.
● However, court four saw Lucca Liu topping Fernandez Horta 6-1, 4-6, 6-1.
● The Gauchos continued to score as Mrsic won his matchup against Krolo 6-3, 7-6.
● The Owls were not going down without a fight as Hunter Robbins beat Conrad Brown 3-6, 6-3, 6-1.
● Gianluca Brunkow clashed with Alberto Colas and came out on top, winning 4-6, 6-2, 7-6, and clinched the victory for Santa Barbara.
