SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - UC Santa Barbara's Men's and Women's Swim are eager to kick off their seasons against the rival Cal Poly this Friday, Oct. 4. The Gauchos will travel north to the Mustang's campus for this iteration of the Blue-Green Rivalry.

UCSB Swimming (M&W) v. Cal Poly
Anderson Aquatic Center - San Luis Obispo, Calif.

After years in the MPSF, Gaucho Swim will return to The Big West this week. UC Santa Barbara's primary conference approved the addition of men's and women's swimming last year.

For the first time since 2009-10, the Big West is sponsoring men's and women's swimming and diving. Despite a conference change, many of the Gauchos' opponents from the MPSF will remain foes in the Big West as meets with Cal Poly, Cal State Bakersfield, UC San Diego Hawai'i and UC Davis will persist.

"This is our first meet of the year and we are fired up," said Head Coach Jaclyn Rosen. "After four weeks of hard training, we are excited to see how everyone performs. We are looking forward to some good competition and going head-to-head with Cal Poly. There is nothing like swimming under the Fright night lights. We are going to bring energy and make it a night to remember."

Live stats will be available through the Meet Mobile app on the App Store or Google Play.

The meet schedule will run as follows:
