Men’s Tennis Closes Fall Season at ITA Sectionals

Box Score MALIBU, Calif. - The UC Santa Barbara Men's Tennis team capped off the fall tournament series at Pepperdine this weekend competing in the ITA West Sectional Championships. 

SINGLES COMPETITION
Gianluca Brunkow faced No. 103 Maxi Homberg in the round of 32 where he unfortunately fell 6-4, 6-3. In the consolation bracket, he came away with a win against No. 91 Savriyan Danilov 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. 

Dominique Rolland lost his first set of his opening match 6-2 against No. 32 Henry von der Schulenburg out of Stanford. He battled back in the second set but ultimately dropped the tiebreak for a 6-2, 7-6 (7-2) final score. 

DOUBLES COMPETITION
Conrad Brown and Dominique Rolland faced UC Berkeley in the round of 16. Despite falling 6-2 in the first set, the Gauchos battled back for a 3-2 lead in the second set. The Bears came back to tie it all up at 4-4. The Gauchos were not able to pull ahead resulting in a 6-2, 6-4 loss.
