SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The UC Santa Barbara Women's Basketball team returns to The Thunderdome after a two-game road trip last week. The Gauchos traveled to UC Irvine before also taking a trip to CSUN. This week the Gauchos will host UC San Diego before making the trip to Hawai'i.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Gauchos suffered a loss to UC Irvine last Thursday but were able to bounce back as they got a win over CSUN on Saturday afternoon. With the win over CSUN the Gauchos improved to 7-1 after a loss.
 
SCOUTING THE TRITONS
UC San Diego enters the contest winning two of their last three games and currently sitting at 10-13 overall and 6-6 in Big West action. As of today the Tritons currently sit seventh in the Big West standings.
 
The Tritons have three players that average 8.5 or more points per game. Sumayah Sugapong currently paces all scorers, averaging 14 per contest, just behind her sits Denali Pinto averaging 10.9 and rounding out the three is Izzy Forsyth who averages 8.7.
 
The Tritons are 2-5 when scoring between 50-60 points their two wins came against CSUN and UC Riverside. Slowing down Sugapong will be key for the Gauchos. When she scores single-digit points UC San Diego is 2-3.
 
SCOUTING THE RAINBOW WAHINE
The Gauchos and Rainbow Wahine will meet for the final time in the regular season. Hawai'i currently sits tied for first with UC Irvine in The Big West Standings. Since the Gauchos and Rainbow Wahine last met, Hawai'i has gone 4-1.

Hawai'i has three players that all average around 10 points per game. Lily Wahinekapu leads the team averaging 10.8 while Imani Perez and Daejah Phillips average 9.8 per contest. The last time the Gauchos and Rainbow Wahine met UC Santa Barbar help Wahinekapu and Perez to a combined 14 pints.
 
Hawai'i has held their last five opponents under 65 points. The Gauchos were the last team to score 65 or more points on the Rainbow Wahine. For the Wahine, they have shot over 40 percent from the field in four of their last five games.
 
FOLLOW ALONG
UC Santa Barbara and UC San Diego will tipoff in The Thunderdome on Thursday, Feb. 15. The Gauchos and Tritons will tipoff at 7 p.m. For those unable to attend the game will be streamed through ESPN+ with live stats also available.
 
The game against the Tritons will be UC Santa Barbara Women's Basketball Black History Month Celebration. The Gauchos will honor and recognize nine Black Leaders in and around the Santa Barbara community.
 
The Gauchos' game against Hawai'i will tipoff at 9 p.m. Pacific time on Saturday, Feb. 17. The game will be streamed through ESPN+ although, for those in Hawai'i, it can be seen on Spectrum SportsNet as it will be blacked out by ESPN+ on the islands.
