SANTA BARBARA, Calif - UC Santa Barbara was on the wrong side of a dominant pitching performance Friday as Northern Colorado's senior Caviness Erin tossed a perfect game with five strikeouts for, leading the Bears past the Gauchos 1-0.
Senior Camryn Snyder got the start for the Gauchos and threw well in her complete-game outing. Snyder allowed just two hits, both doubles, while striking out five in the 1-0 loss to the Bears.
In the seventh inning, Madelyn McNally nearly beat out a bunt single to end the perfect-game but was called out. A couple of hard hit balls earlier in the game by Ainsley Waddell and Jazzy Santos unfortunately found the mits of UNC fielders.
GAME NOTES
- Snyder limited Northern Colorado to just 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position. This was the seniors first complete game of the season.
- Snyder also threw a season-high 122 pitches in the loss.
- Both UNC hits were doubles.
