Day Three at the MPSF Championships: Gaucho Swim Brings the Heat

St.George, Utah: On day three of the MPSF Championships, the excitement continued with a series of exhilarating races and noteworthy achievements. The week's scores through tonight's events, have placed the women's team in fourth place, scoring 400 points, while the men's team climbed to a respectable second place with a combined score of 448. 

In today's ten finals events, the Gauchos secured seven top-three finishes. Samantha Banos led the charge by claiming second place in the 100-yard butterfly with an impressive time of 54.14. Following suit, Kyle Brill and Taber daCosta showcased their prowess in the 400 individual medley race, with Brill seizing silver in 3:49.27 and daCosta securing the bronze with a time of 3:51.14. Continuing the momentum, Austin Sparrow showcased his skills in the men's 200-yard freestyle, earning second place with a time of 1:35.72. Senior Corban McIntosh further contributed to the team's success by clinching second place in the 100-yard breaststroke in 53.78, closely trailed by sophomore Henry Adamson in third place with a time of 53.81. Matt Driscoll concluded the day's victories by triumphing in one of his main events, the men's 100-yard backstroke, with a remarkable time of 46.77, securing first place. 

The championships will resume tomorrow morning for the final day of competition. The day will follow the same daily schedule, with prelim races kicking off at 6:00 am pacific time, followed by finals at 3:00 PM. Be sure to tune in to watch the Gaucho's round out their week in Utah with a bang.
