SANTA BARBARA, CA – The Gauchos will host the last meet of the regular season today, Jan. 30, at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 31, beginning at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Fresno Pacific and Westmont will be in town for the UC Santa Barbara Invitational this weekend.
Last Time Out
The Gauchos handled business in Claremont last weekend, defeating the Claremont McKenna Mudd Scripts. The Gauchos took first place in 24 out of 28 events on the road in Claremont. Jonah Lee took first in the Men's 100 Back (55.50), and Michael Peterson made it a Gaucho 'One-Two' punch. Peterson Finished Second with a time of 55.66. The Blue and Gold were all over the Backstroke events, as in the Women's 200 Back, clinched first, second, and third. Annie Andres brought the gold back to the 805 (2:01.94). Two freshmen were right behind her, Chloe Eyrich secured second place with a time of 2:06.38, and Devon Sliberman secured the sweep, finishing third (2:10.22)
A Look Ahead
This will be the Gauchos last meet before the Big West Championships in Houston Texas from Feb. 11-14. Following the trip to Texas, the Blue and Gold will be preparing for the National Championships in March at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Georgia.
