BERKELEY, Calif. – The UC Santa Barbara Women's Tennis team faced their second straight top 20 opponent in No. 16 Cal on Sunday afternoon. Despite falling 6-1 the Gauchos competed well against some tough competition.

THE MATCH

HOW IT HAPPENED
The doubles point was a battle until the very end. The Golden Bears got the early advantage picking up the win on court three but Camille Kiss and Lucy Lu leveled doubles play with a strong 7-6 (5) victory over their opponent on court two. On court one Amelia Honer and Kira Reuter battled in a top 40 doubles matchup but fell 7-6 (5) and Cal took the doubles point.

The Golden Bears extended their lead to 2-0 after picking up a win on court three, but Amelia Honer could cut the lead in half. Honer picked up a straight-set victory over her opponent, 6-1, 6-2. Unfortunately that was all the Gauchos would get as Cal proceeded to win the final four singles matchups and win the match 6-1.
