Snow Totals Three Hits in Gauchos Loss to Lehigh

SANTA BARBARA, Calif - The UC Santa Barbara Softball team dropped their final game of the weekend to Lehigh, being narrowly defeated by the Mountain Hawks, 4-2. Senior Alana Snow collected three hits in the contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 1-0, the Gauchos put a run on the board in the fifth inning. UC Santa Barbara got on the board thanks to Alana Snow's RBI double with two outs, driving in Ashley Donaldson to tie the game at one.

The Mountain Hawks broke the tie and re-took the lead heading into the seventh inning when the Gauchos got back on the scoreboard. Santa Barbara scored once on an RBI single off the bat of Jazzy Santos, which tightened the Mountain Hawks lead to 4-2. The Gauchos were unable to get any closer, as the Mountain Hawks were able to strand two Gauchos runners.

In addition to her three hits, Snow had a double and an RBI to lead the Gauchos. Sophomore Jazzy Santos put together a noteworthy performance at the dish as well, going 1-for-4 with an RBI.

GAME NOTES
Snow led the Gauchos at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Camryn Snyder came in relief out of the bullpen and needed just one pitch to record the third out in the seventh inning.
The Gauchos struck out three times in the game. Of the 21 outs the Gauchos forced the Mountain Hawks to make a play for 18 of those outs.

UP NEXT
The Gauchos will gear up for the start of Big West action. UC Santa Barbara will host Hawai'i on Friday, March 15, and Saturday, March 16. The first pitch on Friday is set for noon at Campus Diamond.
