Gauchos Conclude Big West Play with Two Road Matches

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The UC Santa Barbara Men's Tennis team is gearing up for their final conference battles away from home, starting with UC Riverside on Thursday, Apr. 18, followed by a showdown against Cal Poly on Saturday, Apr. 20.

HISTORY
The Gauchos have maintained their dominance over UC Riverside since the 2006-07 season, boasting an unblemished record with 18 wins. The Highlanders are currently sitting at 0-4 in Big West matches this season.

UCSB leads the all-time series with Cal Poly, holding a 17-11 advantage. Last season, the Gauchos secured a shutout victory in the Blue-Green rivalry.

IN THE RANKINGS
UCSB sits in the No. 49 position in the latest ITA rankings. Pablo Masjuan sits at No. 65 for singles and No. 44 for doubles with his partner Gianluca Brunkow

FALL RECAP
UC Santa Barbara started strong in the fall with Pablo Masjuan and Gianluca Brunkow picking up a doubles victory against, at the time, the No. 12 ranked doubles teams in the nation in their opening fall tournament. Later on Masjuan would qualify for the ITA National Fall Championships and make a great run but ultimately fell in the quarterfinal round of the Championship.

UC Santa Barbara Men's Tennis welcomes new additions to the team with Dominique Rolland from Calabasas, Calif., and Gustav Theilgaard from Hillerød, Denmark.
