IRVINE, Calif. – The Big West announced its 2025 women's soccer all-conference teams and award winners Saturday, with nine UC Santa Barbara student-athletes earning a spot on an All-Big West team. The nine Gaucho All-Big West selections are the most for a single season in program history.
Olivia Howard earned her first All-Big West selection after being the top offensive threat for the Gauchos this season. The junior scored six goals, a season-high and tying her goal output from the previous two seasons. Howard was the leading goal scorer for the Blue and Gold and ranks 29
th nationally in game-winning goals with four.
Joining Howard as a First Team selection is defender
Sofie Rodriguez. Rodriguez broke out a year ago and plays a pivotal role on the backline for UC Santa Barbara. Rodriguez, the reigning Big West Championship MVP, played in all 20 regular-season matches, making 19 starts. The senior played all 90 minutes 17 times and helped the Gauchos to seven clean sheets in the regular season.
Emily Caughey earned her third All-Big West selection in as many years after being named to the second team following the 2025 regular season. Caughey had another stellar year on the backline, helping the Gauchos to a 0.65 goals against average. She was also an offensive threat, matching her output from a season ago with one goal and one assist. Caughey helped the Gauchos defeat future Big West member Sacramento State with a goal and assisted on a goal against New Mexico as the Gauchos handed the Lobos their first loss of the season when they played.
Emma Corcoran earns her third All-Big West honor of her career, joining Caughey as a second team selection. Like last year, Corcoran was a cornerstone for the Gauchos in the midfield. The senior matched her offensive output from a year ago with one goal and one assist. Her goal came against CSUN as the Gauchos defeated the Matadors in the regular season, handing them their only loss in Big West play.
Haley Phillips saved her best year for last and picked up her first All-Big West selection as a second-teamer. The senior more than doubled her offensive point total from last season and recorded more goals this season than her previous three seasons combined. Phillips finished with three goals and four assists on the season and was the second-highest point-getter on the team. All three goals were game winners coming against San Jose State, Cal Poly and Cal State Bakersfield. Her three game winners rank 76
th nationally.
Mya Delaney joins the list of first-time All-Big West selections this year after being named All-Big West Honorable Mention. The Long Beach native had a great year on the backline and moved into an attacking spot later in the season. The sophomore had a breakout year, scoring two goals and an assist. She was one of seven Gauchos to score multiple goals on the season, and both her goals came via a header. Delaney was also great on the backline, helping the Gauchos to seven shutouts throughout the season.
For the second year in a row,
Maddie Buckley was selected to an All-Big West team this year, ending up as Honorable Mention. The junior recorded 58 saves, seven shutouts and posted a 0.69 goals against average. She earned nine of the Gauchos' 12 wins and currently ranks seventh in career saves and sixth in career shutouts. Buckley ranks top five in goals against average, shutouts, and save percentage in The Big West.
Rounding out the All-Big West selections in
Natalie Sheffey. The Hermosa Beach native was named to the All-Big West Freshman team. Sheffey led the Gauchos in assists in her first season with the Blue and Gold. The freshman dished out five assists and scored once in her inaugural season. Her first collegiate goals came against North Dakota State in a day to remember, as she also recorded an assist in the game. She was named Freshman of the Week following the performance and is now awarded with a yearly award.

Reese Wroblewski joined Sheffey on the All-Freshman Team after a stella first year on the backline. Wroblewski started in 15 games and played in 17 helping the Gaucho defense to seven shutouts and allowing less than a goal per game.
UC Santa Barbara now prepares for another run in The Big West Championships beginning tomorrow, Sunday, Nov. 2, as they travel to UC Irvine for the opening round.
