SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Gabi Martinez has earned Big West Freshman of the Week honors for the second week in a row following her remarkable performances against UC San Diego and Long Beach State University. 

The outside hitter from Katy, Texas delivered 17 kills against UC San Diego, as well as three blocks. She was instrumental in Santa Barbara's upset of Long Beach State, nailing 18 kills to make 4.5 per set. She also picked up 12 digs to achieve her third double double of the season. She averaged 5.36 points per set for the weekend and hit .311.

Martinez previously earned Freshman of the Week on Nov. 3 after landing 18 kills in the Gaucho win over CSUN. She also garnered it on Sept. 29 following a break out weekend with a career-high 19 kills over CSUN. 

The Gauchos will perform in their final home matches of the season this week, a Thursday night match up versus Cal Poly on Nov. 14 followed by Senior Night versus Hawai'i on Friday, Nov. 15.
