SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The UC Santa Barbara Women's Basketball team is gearing up for a lighter weekend, hosting a single matchup this Saturday, November 15th against Grand Canyon University.
LAST TIME OUT
The Gauchos enter the weekend with momentum after a dominant 89-49 win over Seattle University last Sunday. Santa Barbara went 2-1 in their opening week and are looking to carry that energy into Saturday's home contest.
Forward Olivia Bradley continues to be a key contributor for the Gauchos, tallying 44 points so far this season and averaging 14.7 points per game. Sophomore Zoe Shaw also shone in the victory over Seattle, leading the team in scoring while matching the team high in rebounds and assists.
SCOPING THE CANYON
Grand Canyon comes into Saturday's game looking to rebound after three challenging losses to start the season, most recently falling to Oregon, 84-66.
The Antelopes are led by sophomore Chloe Mann, who paces the team in assists (7) points (38), and points per game (12.7). Guard Ale'jah Douglas is another player to watch, setting a career high against Oregon with four three-pointers, four assists, and 14 points.
Historically, the teams have faced off three times, with GCU holding a narrow 2-1 edge in the series. In their last meeting in 2024, Santa Barbara fell 69-58, but the Gauchos are determined to flip the script and extend GCU's current losing streak.
