Gauchos Go to San José for Midweek Matchup

SAN JOSÉ, Calif. – The Gauchos Women's Basketball team is headed north for a Wednesday night outing against the San Jose State Spartans at the Provident Credit Union Event Center. UC Santa Barbara looks to continue its early-season momentum as they hit the road once again.

LAST TIME OUT
UC Santa Barbara is coming off a hard-fought home victory against Grand Canyon University, taking down the Antelopes 72-70 and improving to 3-1 on the season.

Sophomore Zoe Shaw led the Gauchos with an impressive 17 points, while standout forward Olivia Bradley punched 16 points and seven rebounds on the night. 

SCOPING THE SPARTANS
San Jose State enters Wednesday's contest still searching for their first win of the season after coming off two tough losses, sitting at a record of 0-2. Most recently, the Spartans fell against Cal Baptist in a road battle, losing 55-69. 

The Spartans are led by Maya Anderson who has averaged 14 points per game in their first two contests. Senior Amira Brown leads the team in rebounds, accumulating 15 so far this season and emerging as a key defensive presence.

The Gauchos are 2-1 against the Spartans in their last three showdowns, their most recent meeting taking place in November of 2024, where UC Santa Barbara claimed an 86-76 win.
