SAN JOSÉ, Calif. – The UC Santa Barbara Women's Basketball team took a road win over the San José State Spartans today, defeating them 75-60 in the Provident Credit Union Event Center. Zoe Borter and Maddie Naro funded the win with a pair of career-best point performances, with Borter collecting 22 and Naro 18.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Gauchos had a rocky first quarter, ending it ten points behind at 17-7. The Spartans had a 13-point scoring run that led to their head start.

Santa Barbara dramatically recovered in the second quarter, scoring 25 points overall to shrink the gap. SJSU had built a 16-point lead at 23-7, but lost it due to a large number of turnovers. The Gauchos went on multiple scoring-runs to exit the first half nearly tied with the Spartans, who now only led by one (33-32).

In the third quarter, the Gauchos finally overcame their trail, sinking 21 points in comparison to the Spartans' nine. Santa Barbara finished the period ahead by 11 points at 53-42. During the fourth, the Gauchos finalized their win at 75-60, fifteen points ahead of their host.

Three Gauchos scored in double digits, while Borter became the first Gaucho to breach 20 points this season. She tied her career-high point count with 22 and got a new career-high in free throws with six. Naro also reached a career-high point tally against SJSU, notching 18 for her all-time best.

Olivia Bradley sank 11 points to make her the only Gaucho to achieve double digits in all five games this season.  Bradley nabbed six rebounds tonight, as did Skylar Burke and Júlia Puente-Valverde

Borter and Bradley led in assists with three each, while Jessica Grant went 100% in three-pointers, making three.
