SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The UC Santa Barbara Men's Volleyball season is right around the corner, which means it's time to purchase season tickets!
Fans with season tickets will be treated to 14 home matches for the price of $99. Family packs are also available for families of four and families of five. The Gauchos open the season hosting the annual Asics Invitational in Rob Gym.
The Gauchos return a powerful defense anchored by middle blocker John Aruya and outside hitter Riggs Guy – both fresh off an incredible summer representing the USA Volleyball U21 Men's National Team, where they helped capture the Gold Medal at the Pan American Championship against Canada. Guy earned Best Spiker honors in the championship match, totaling 11 points on nine kills and two blocks. Aruya was also a prime contributor to the team's victory, totaling five blocks on the match to win the gold.
Last season with Santa Barbara, Aruya finished second on the team for total blocks and tied with Guy for solo blocks, while Guy made his mark offensively, finishing with 217 kills and 245 points.
Santa Barbara continues to build momentum in The Big West rankings this season, finishing last season in the top 5 in digs and kills, and top 10 for blocks, points, and hitting percentage. With a strong returning core and exciting new additions, expectations are high for another competitive year in Santa Barbara.
