SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – Coming off a 2-0 week, the UC Santa Barbara Men's Basketball team resumes non-conference play as they head to Salt Lake City to take on Utah Valley on Saturday, Dec. 13. The neutral site game will be played at the Delta Center, home of the Utah Jazz.

UC Santa Barbara earned their fourth and fifth consecutive wins during The Big West's Bold Week. The Gauchos earned two conference wins over Long Beach State and Cal State Bakersfield to start conference action off on the right foot. Santa Barbara was propelled by
Aidan Mahaney, who, over the two games, averaged 28.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in the two games. His two performances earned him not only Big West Player of the Week honors but also Lou Henson and USBWA National Player of the Week recognition.
SCOUTING THE WOLVERINES
Utah Valley enters Saturdays game after a 73-69 win over Idaho State on Wednesday night. UVU is currently ranked 63rd in the NCAA NET rankings, the highest among all WAC programs and third among Division I teams in the state of Utah.
The Wolverines enter the weekend ranked highly in many offensive categories. UVU currently ranks 13
th in assists per game, 15
th in field goal percentage, 24
th in effective field goal percentage and 36
th in scoring margin. Four of the five starters for Utah Valley are currently averaging in double figures with Jackson Holcombe leading the way at 16.2 points per game. The quartet makes up for 61 percent of the Wolverines' scoring so far this season.
Defensively, they are equally as strong, ranking top 30 in blocks per game, field goal percentage defense, steals per game and three-point percentage defense. UVU has held a team to 60 or fewer points four times this season and 55 or fewer three times. Against teams from California, the Wolverines are 1-2 with their win coming against Big West foe UC Irvine.
