ST. GEORGE, Utah - The UC Santa Barbara Women's basketball team is back on the road this weekend, heading out of state to face Utah Tech on Saturday, Dec. 13th. The Gauchos will face the Trailblazers for the first time in program history.
LAST TIME OUT
The Gauchos look to continue their hot streak after opening conference play last weekend with road wins against Long Beach State and Cal State Bakersfield. In the 67-52 win against the Beach, guard Jessica Grant led the way with 15 points, while forward Olivia Bradley totaled 8 rebounds and guard Maddie Naro recorded 6 assists.
In the Gauchos' 67-47 victory over the Roadrunners, forward Zoe Borter took over in a dominant offensive performance, recording a career-high 25 points in 28 minutes while shooting five-for-five from three. Olivia Bradley again led with 7 rebounds, and Maddie Naro led with 5 assists.
The Gauchos will now look to extend their 7-game win streak and improve their 8-1 overall record.
TRACKING THE TRAILBLAZERS
The Trailblazers will look to bounce back after losing to New Mexico State 58-55 last Saturday. Despite the loss, guard Kaylee Borden led the squad with 22 points.
The Trailblazers will look to feed Borden, who is averaging 17.4 points per game this season. Averaging 8 rebounds per game, guard Brie Crittendon will be a strong force to look out for in the paint.
Saturday's match up will mark the first meeting of the Gauchos and Trailblazers in college women's basketball history.
