SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The UC Santa Barbara Women's Basketball team is closing out the calendar year in The Thunderdome, hosting Eastern Washington for its final game of the year. Tip off is at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 18.
PROMOTIONS
In partnership with One8-5, the game is dedicated to honoring First Responders. First responders will be recognized during the game and provided free admission.
A toy drive will also take place; fans who donate a toy will receive a ticket voucher to the game versus Cal State Fullerton on Jan. 1 at 2:00 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
After defeating Utah Tech on the road on Dec. 13, the Gauchos achieved the winningest opening record in program history, going 9-1 in the first ten games. Jessica Grant led the Gauchos against the Trailblazers in points with 16, while four players nabbed six rebounds each.
EYEING THE EAGLES
Santa Barbara visited Eastern Washington in December of 2024 and played the Eagles for the second time in history and first time this century. The Gauchos fell 54-46 and look to avenge the loss this week.
Eastern Washington is 6-4 this season, most recently defeating Washington State. The Eagles' offense is led by Elyn Bowers and Jaecy Eggers, who are each averaging fourteen points per game. Kourtney Grossman is anchoring the rebounds, seizing 11.8 per game.
