CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The UC Santa Barbara Women's Indoor Track & Field team are traveling to the East Coast to compete in the Crimson Elite on Friday, Feb. 7 and the Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invite on Saturday, Feb. 8. Upon conclusion of the Crimson Elite, the Gauchos will take a road trip to Boston, Mass. to prepare to compete in their last indoor meet of the 2025 Indoor Track season. The Crimson Elite & Multi meet will occur at the Gordon Indoor Track and the Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invite will take place at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center.
CRIMSON ELITE
The one-day event will commence at 10:30 a.m. for the Gauchos with the start of the Women's Pentathlon. The 60-meter hurdles will kick things off, followed by the high jump, shot put, long jump, and 800-meter run to conclude the combined event.
The first field events will begin with the shot put and weight throw at 2:30 p.m., followed by the high jump, triple jump, long jump, and pole vault.
Track events will begin at 5:00 p.m. with the 60-meter hurdles preliminary. Subsequent to that, the 60-meter dash preliminary will determine the athletes competing in the finals of the race. The night will conclude with the 60-meter dash final at 7:30 p.m. and the 60-meter dash at 7:40 p.m.
BRUCE LEHANE SCARLET & WHITE INVITE
After a lengthy first day in Cambridge, the Gauchos are set to do it all over again in Boston. The field events start at 11:00 a.m. with the pole vault, high jump, shot put, and long jump all underway. The ensuing field events consist of the weight throw and triple jump to conclude the Saturday field events.
The women's 5K race will serve as the opener for the track events. After the 5K, the women's 60-meter hurdle trials and 60-meter dash trials will decide who moves on to a final later in the day. Other events will include the 800-meter run, 500-meter run, 400-meter dash, mile run, 200-meter dash, 1K race, 3K race, and the 4x400-meter relay.
