SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The No. 24 UC Santa Barbara Women's Tennis team secured their first win at home this season as they swept the TCU Horned Frogs on Sunday morning at the Arnhold Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Gauchos were ready to fight from the start with all three doubles courts going to 5-5. Lucy Lu and Lily Pradkin fought for a 7-5 win on court three. On court one, No. 17 Amelia Honer and Marie Weissheim got ahead 6-5 but their opponent would force a tiebreak. The Gauchos were up for the task as they defeated the Horned Frogs in the tiebreak 7-5 and would put the Gauchos on the board. 

The Blue and Gold would not let up heading into singles as Ali Benedetto took court four in straight sets to bring the score to 2-0. On court one, Amelia Honer fought for a major comeback in the first set. As her opponent looked for just one more game to take the set, Honer would find win after win in each game to earn the hard-fought first set 7-5. From there, it was lights out as she finished off the match with a 6-1 second set victory. 

As the Gauchos looked for just one more point, Lily Pradkin took control of the third set after falling 6-1 in the first and coming back 6-1 in the second. Her third set battle saw a 6-2 victory giving the Blue and Gold the 4-0 win. 

On court two, Marie Weissheim dropped the first set 6-4 but battled back in the second set 6-5 before leaving the match unfinished at set point. Tyra Richardson battled in the first set but ultimately lost the tiebreak and trailed 4-1 as the match was left unfinished. Emma Tutoveanu was in the middle of a third set battle after a 2-6, 6-2 start leading 3-1 before leaving the third set unfinished.
