San Diego, Calif. — The UC Santa Barbara Men's Tennis Team faced a tough challenge in their final match of the Ed Collins Classic, falling 4-0 to No. 7 San Diego on Sunday at the Hogan Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Gauchos faced early pressure in doubles play, where San Diego claimed the first two matches to secure the doubles point. UCSB's top pairing of
Gianluca Brunkow and
Dominique Rolland was leading 4-3 at No. 1 when play was halted.
In singles, the Toreros built on their momentum with a win at No. 5, despite a determined effort from UCSB's
Charlie Underwood. At No. 4,
Diogo Morais put up a strong fight but fell in straight sets, giving San Diego a 3-0 lead.
The clinching point came at No. 2 singles, where
Gianluca Brunkow battled against No. 52 Savriyan Danilov before ultimately coming up short, 6-3, 6-2.
Several Gauchos were in promising positions when play was stopped.
Matei Gavrea was on the verge of victory at No. 6, leading 6-4, 4-1, while
Lucca Liu battled back to force a third set at No. 3.
Dominique Rolland was midway through a competitive second set at No. 1 when the match concluded.
