SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The No. 34 UC Santa Barbara Men's Tennis team enters the 2025 Big West Men's Tennis Championships as the top seed, looking to defend its dominance in conference play. The Gauchos earned a direct berth into the semifinal round, set for Saturday, April 26, where they will face the winner of Friday's quarterfinal between No. 4 seed UC San Diego and No. 5 seed Cal Poly. The championship match will take place Sunday at 10 a.m. at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego.

To end the regular season, No. 34 UC Santa Barbara Men's Tennis team secured the Regular Season Conference Championship and the No. 1 seed in The Big West Championships with a 4-0 sweep over Cal Poly at home.
Gianluca Brunkow, on his senior day, took a dominant 6-2 win with
Dominique Rolland on court one to clinch the doubles point. The top of the lineup dominated in singles play with
Lucca Liu,
Dominique Rolland, and
Diogo Morais winning in straight sets.
SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
The Gauchos defeated the Tritons 4-1 on the road earlier this season. UCSD's standout is sophomore Carson Lee, a two-time Big West Player of the Week this season. This marks the Tritons' first season of full eligibility for conference and NCAA postseason play after completing their transition to Division I.
UCSB's most recent win came against the Mustangs. Cal Poly is led by the doubles pair of Colter Smither and Bastiaan Westrate and singles standout Sean Kamyshev. The Mustangs aim to capture their fourth Big West title and first since 2014.
No. 2 seed UC Irvine, No. 7 seed UC Riverside, No. 3 seed UC Davis, and No. 6 seed Hawai'i will also be competing for a spot in the final round. .
