SAN DIEGO, Calif – The No. 43 UC Santa Barbara Women's Tennis team advanced to the Big West Championship with a 4-0 sweep of No. 73 Long Beach State, the No. 4 seed in the tournament. The Gauchos will play for the title at 11 a.m. tomorrow against No. 2 seed Cal Poly. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Gauchos got to work quickly in doubles with a near-perfect performance. On court two, Lucy Lu and Lily Pradkin got the perfect 6-0 victory. Raphaelle Leroux and Marie Weissheim followed up the success with a dominant 6-1 win to clinch the doubles point.

Singles performances added to the already dominant showing by the Blue and Gold. Marie Weissheim got the next point for the Gauchos with a 6-3, 6-1 win. On court five, Emma Tutoveanu picked up a swift straight-set victory to get the Gauchos the 3-0 lead. Raphaelle Leroux closed out the perfect day earning a 6-2, 6-4 win in the fourth position. 

All six Gauchos would take the first set on their respective singles courts. All three of the unfinished courts saw Santa Barbara leading in the second set. Amelia Honer was two games away from victory with a 6-2, 4-2 unfinished match. Tyra Richardson held a 3-0 lead after a 7-5 battle for the first. Katarina Vayser had a dominant 6-3, 5-0 performance when her match was left unfinished.
