SEATTLE, Wash. (Jan 31)– The UC Santa Barbara Women's Track and Field team is set to open their 2026 indoor season in the Pacific Northwest at the UW Invitational, hosted by the University of Washington. The two-day meet – held on Friday, Jan. 30 and Saturday, Jan. 31 – allows the Gauchos to put their months of grueling pre-season training to the test against a diverse field of conference opponents and nationally ranked programs.

EVENTS
The Gauchos will be featured in eight events, showcasing 17 athletes across the board. A majority of the team will compete on Friday, with Women's High Jump kicking off for the field events at 10 a.m., followed by Women's Long Jump and Women's Pole Vault.
Friday's track events will open with the Women's 60 m Hurdles Preliminary round, the first gun going off at 10 a.m. Following the hurdles, the Gauchos will be seen in action in the 60 m dash, 400, 800, and 4x400 relay.
Saturday's field events will feature senior Kenni Johnson in the Women's Triple Jump Invite section at 2 p.m., with four Gauchos closing out the meet in the Women's Invite Mile.

The Gauchos will have two weeks of preparation before they travel to the East Coast for the Crimson Invite hosted by Harvard on Feb. 14, and the Boston University Valentine hosted by Boston University on Feb. 14.
