Women's Swim Team Back In Action This Weekend

SANTA BARBARA, Ca. – The Gauchos will be back in action this weekend, for the first time in 2026. The Women's swim team travels to UCLA for a quad meet with the hosting Bruins, Utah Utes, and Iowa Hawkeyes on January 10th. Events will get underway at 10 a.m. this Saturday.
Last Time Out
The Blue and Gold last competed in the 2025 Fall Naval Academy Invitational, where the Gauchos finished second place out of the competing teams. Highlighted by the Women's new 400 Medley Relay school record. Hazel Derr, Ashley Ray, Eugenie Lanilis, and Samantha Banos posted a time of 3:37.53, which now tops the Gaucho record book. Zachary Tamusaitis brought Gold back to the 805 after posting a 46:51 in the 100 Fly.
Next Time Out
The Men's team will have to wait to make their 2026 debut until the 19th, when UOP and UC Davis come to town. The Blue and Gold will be in action every January weekend in preparation for the Big West Championships in mid February.
