Gauchos Face No. 3 Wake Forest in ITA Indoor Championship Opener

| By:
WACO, Texas – The UC Santa Barbara Men's Tennis team looks to make their mark at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, hosted by SMU and Baylor, as 16 of the nation's top programs compete for the title. The eighth-seeded Blue and Gold will open play against No. 3 Wake Forest at 4:30 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Gauchos look to extend their six-match winning streak following a 4-1 road victory over Santa Clara.

The Blue and Gold dropped the doubles point after falling on courts two and three, while the top matchup remained unfinished. The Gauchos responded with a strong showing in singles, highlighted by straight-set victories from No. 31 Dominique Rolland and three-set wins from Diogo Morais, Charlie Underwood, and Conrad Brown. With four singles courts completed in their favor and two matches left unfinished, UCSB secured the overall victory in a resilient comeback effort.

ABOUT THE DEMON DEACONS
The 2025 NCAA National Champions, who also claimed the Indoor National Championship at this time last year, are seeded first on the Waco side of the bracket.

Anchored by the nation's No. 3-ranked doubles team of senior Dhakshineswar Suresh and redshirt freshman Andrew Delgado, the lineup brings strength at the top in both singles and doubles play. The squad also features a handful of nationally ranked singles players in No. 14 Luca Pow, No. 21 Suresh, No. 58 Delgado, and No. 89 Joaquin Guilleme, giving them depth across the courts. After opening the season with a six-match win streak, the team was recently swept by now No. 2 Ohio State.

Head coach Tony Bresky, who has led the program since 2011, has guided the team to NCAA National Championships in 2018 and 2025, three ACC titles (2016, 2018, 2019), and has been named ITA National Coach of the Year twice (2018, 2025).
